-In ancient civilizations, death was sacred, both honoured and celebrated. It was seen as an important transition point in a soul's evolution, an ongoing experience of life here on Earth.
-As cultures evolved, they became more focused on and identified with the physical aspects of life. What was lost was a sense of continuity- the memory that who we truly are existed both before and will exist after our time in the body we currently inhabit.
-We may think that we have plenty of time to prepare for death, yet there is no timetable. It may choose to arrive in our life at any moment after we are born.
